Service Opportunities

In the tradition of the United Methodist Church, Salem offers a variety of opportunities to be involved in Christian service.

Prayer Chain
Salem’s Prayer Chain consists of approximately 20 members. They are an intercessory prayer chain offering another persons concern to God. People call with prayer concerns for family members, church members, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. Contact the pastor or the church office if you would like to make a prayer request.

The Prayer Chain is always looking for people who feel a call to pray for others on the spur of the moment whenever someone calls with a prayer request. Please be in prayerful thought as to whether God is calling you to serve in this capacity. Contact the church office if you would like to join the Prayer Chain or for more information.

Ushering
Please consider ushering. We have teams of four who are on a rotating schedule. This means that you would usher about once every 3 or 4 months. Call the office to volunteer.

Liturgist
Anyone can volunteer to be a Liturgist for a worship service. You will receive all the information about what you would read before your selected day. Sign up today, it is a great way to be involved.

Greeters
Share a warm welcome with everyone who enters our church for services. This is an excellent opportunity to put on your best smile forward! Call the office to volunteer.

Multi-Media Team
The Multi-media Team (audio and visual) at Salem is in charge of running the sound booth for worship services, weddings, funerals, and special events. They produce videos used in worship and archive photos from almost all events that take place at the church. Their mission is to integrate modern technology into worship and other ministries while keeping within the mission and vision of Salem; plan and look ahead into the ever changing technological world; and to look forward and anticipate the changing needs of this congregation. They have a lot of fun with everything they do and pride themselves in their work. If you would like more information on this exciting ministry please contact the church office. No prior tech experience is needed - they will take care of training.
